During the Governor's ingratiate visit to Ado-Odo-Ota on Sunday 28th of August, 2021(2 days ago). He pointed at the Bill Board of Alhaji Sikirulai Adekunle Mustapha *(BANANA)* a People Democratic Party's candidate for House of representatives in Ado/Ota federal Constituency.
It was obvious that the Governor did not enjoy ovation during his first visit early this month after he was booed by the residents of Sango/Ijoko for being in office like a non-living thing.
The visit with his Deputy, Engr. Noimot did not stop the resident's reaction despite hiring thugs from the transport Union to haul and applaud him, the people still reacted to the marginalisation and non-development of the area.
Eleyi was seen pointing at the signage well positioned at Ijoko road in Sango, our reliable source informed us the governor said in Yoruba, "Ogbeni Banana yi lon pariwo l'Ota ni ko je ko go tiwa....". He immediately called the State signage authority boss to ensure signage was destroyed within 24 hours.
As instructed, today August 30th, 2022 the agencies brought cranes, cylinders and other destroying equipment to destroy the signage, but the action was protested by market women and the good people of Sango and Ijoko Community. After long hours of reaction from residents, they granted permission for the voluntary removal of the billboard after destroying the image of the PDP's candidate.
Foremost, this is an inhumane, total abuse of power and deprivation of human rights. This is coming as a surprise despite the fact there is evidence of approval and payment of statutory fees to the Ogun State Signage and Advertisement Agency(OGSAA).
The other day we had access to leaked information about how the Governor instructed OGSAA not to accept the registration of billboards from other Political Parties in Ogun State.
As we speak, they have started operations to remove PDP billboards across the state and even beyond.
We have been victimised, but anyway, as a party/team we are resolute that no matter the victimization, Dapo Abiodun will not be re-elected, the APC has failed in Ogun State and the people will reject them.
We are not timid and our people should be assured that there's no sense of inferiority in us, but we are only making this known to the public so that the Governor and his party can be called to order as this is an action of acute misuse of power and a clear expression of lack of political prowess, this can disrupt the peace of our beloved Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government and could lead to break of law and order.
